Amaç: Bu araştırma afetlerde bakım ve ilk yardım dersini alan hemşire adaylarının ilk yardım öz-yeterlik inançlarındaki değişimi belirlemek amacı ile yapılan bir müdahale araştırmasıdır.
Yöntem: Araştırmada tek gruplu ön test-son test modeli kullanıldı. Araştırma Şubat-Mayıs 2022 tarihleri arasında Akdeniz Üniversitesi Hemşirelik Fakültesi’nde yapıldı. Müdahale olarak öğrencilere müfredatta yer alan ilk yardım dersi verildi. Araştırma örneklemini hem ön testi ve hem de son testi dolduran 58 öğrenci oluşturdu. Araştırmada “Öğrenci Tanıtıcı Bilgi Formu” ve ilk yardım öz-yeterlik inançlarını değerlendirmek için “İlk Yardım Öz-Yeterlik Ölçeği” kullanıldı.
Bulgular: Hemşirelik öğrencilerinin afetlerde bakım ve ilk yardım dersi sonrasında “İlk Yardım Öz-yeterlik” toplam ve alt boyut puanlarında anlamlı bir artış olduğu belirlendi. Araştırmada öğrencilerin ön test son test öz yeterlik toplam puan ortalamaları arasında anlamlı bir fark olduğu belirlendi. Öğrencilerin ön test toplan puan ortalamaları 127.5 iken son test puan ortalamaları 186.2’ye yükseldi. İlk yardım eğitimi alan öğrenciler ile almayan öğrenciler arasındaki ön test-son test puan ortalamaları farkının cinsiyet ve akademik başarıya göre istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olmadığı belirlendi (p>0.05).
Sonuçlar: Afetlerde bakım ve ilk yardım dersinin, öğrencilerin ilk yardım öz-yeterlik düzeylerini arttırmada önemli bir etkiye sahip olduğu bulundu.
Aim: This research is an intervention research conducted with the aim of determining the change in the first aid self-efficacy beliefs of nurse candidates who took the care and first aid course in disasters.
Methods: A single group pretest-posttest model was used in the study. The research was carried out in the Faculty of Nursing of Akdeniz University between February and May 2022. As an intervention, students were given first aid lessons in the curriculum. The research sample consisted of 58 students who completed both the pre-test and the post-test. In the study, "Student Descriptive Information Form" and "First Aid Self-Efficacy Scale" were used to evaluate first aid self-efficacy beliefs.
Results: It was determined that there was a significant increase in the total and sub-dimension scores of "Self-Efficacy of First Aid" of nursing students after the disaster care and first aid course. In the study, it was determined that there was a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test self-efficacy total score means of the students. While the pre-test total mean score of the students was 127.5, the post-test mean score increased to 186.2. It was determined that the difference in pretest-posttest mean scores between students who received first aid education and those who did not, was not statistically significant according to gender and academic achievement (p>0.05).
Conclusion: It was found that disaster care and first aid course had a significant effect on increasing students' first aid self-efficacy levels.
